Spartan School of Business and Finance
Welcome to the Spartan School of Business and Finance
Founded in 2017, the Spartan School of Business and Finance (SSoBF) focuses on business and finance studies. The mission of the school is to prepare students for a 21st century workplace by offering relevant academic subjects and linking students to the outside world and potential future career paths.
The Spartan School of Business and Finance offers a four-year program that provides an opportunity to earn up to 15 college credits in collaboration with Georgian Court University by incorporating honors-level business courses at each grade level. Students develop into a cohort by attending a Summer Bridge Experience. Through partnerships with local companies and organizations, students will participate in real-life applications through structured learning experiences. Upon completion, all students will qualify for Quickbooks Pro Certification.
In addition, students participate in DECA, where they have an opportunity to compete against students throughout the country in business related competitions. They will serve on advisory panels and be a part of the decision making process, taking ownership of the educational process.
Why Business and Finance?
Data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) show that wages for many business-related occupations were higher than those for all workers. According to the Occupational Employment Statistics from May 2017, jobs in Management, Accounting, Bookkeeping, Tax Preparation, and Payroll services represent over 440,000 in NJ with an average salary of $78,090 while the average of all occupations in NJ is $56,970.
Spartan School of Technology
The Spartan School of Technology (SSoT) will provide students with a wide variety of learning experiences resulting in Autodesk certification, internships and job shadowing, and potential college credit.
The mission of the Spartan School of Technology is to create technology programs which develop college and career readiness skills through authentic learning experiences and community partnerships. Students will be exposed to concepts and build skills related to design and advanced manufacturing. This includes Robotics & Automation, Computer Aided Design (CAD), 3D Printing, Coding, Electronics, Laser Cutting, CNC Milling, Vinyl Cutting, Vacuum Forming, Traditional Woodworking and more.
To introduce the program and build excitement, via the Summer Bridge Program, SSoT students will attend events and workshops, such as Leadership Activities, Team/Cohort Building, and Local NJ Manufacturers Site Visits/Guest Speakers
Why Technology?
“Employment in occupations related to STEM—science, technology, engineering, and mathematics—is projected to grow to more than 9 million between 2012 and 2022. That’s an increase of about 1 million jobs over 2012 employment levels.”
